Helpful guidance for confident practice
Use these quick resources to prepare for lessons, practise safely, and understand what we focus on during road-test preparation.
Before Your Lesson
- Bring your valid learner or driver licence.
- Wear comfortable shoes suitable for driving.
- Think about one or two skills you want to focus on.
- Share any anxiety, previous experience, or road-test timeline with your instructor.
Road-Test Preparation Focus
- Observation, mirrors, and shoulder checks.
- Speed control and smooth braking.
- Lane changes, turns, and road positioning.
- Parking, intersections, school zones, and decision-making.
Practice Between Lessons
- Review what you learned after each lesson.
- Practise only with a qualified supervising driver when required.
- Keep sessions calm, short, and focused on one skill at a time.
- Ask questions early if something feels confusing.
Practice Notes
Keep a simple driving log
After each lesson or supervised practice drive, write down one skill you worked on, one thing that felt easier, and one question for next time. A short record makes progress easier to notice.
